When you suspect your child has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, deciding on the next step can be frustrating and confusing. Everything from a brief conversation with your child's physician to expensive, experimental, brain scans can be recommended. Decades of research have demonstrated that psychological testing is unquestionably the most valid and reliable way to arrive at an accurate diagnosis for your child. The testing and assessment I provide are multimodal in nature and include: interviews with you and your child, information obtained from your child's school, standardized behavior rating scales, and measures of attention, focus, and impulsivity completed directly with your child. Additionally, this evaluation can rule out issues of depression, anxiety, information processing difficulties, and other childhood disorders that are often mistaken for ADHD. A full and thorough ADHD assessment utilizing psychological testing can help inform treatment and provide guidance on the development of educational plans at school.
